Lanakila Meal on Wheels

Lanakila Meal on Wheels

Help Deliver hot Thanksgiving meals to seniors and individuals with disabilities

(Joint project with Honolulu Chinese Jaycees)

When: Thursday, November 27, 2025 (Thanksgiving Day)

Time Commitment: Each delivery route contains multiple stops

and is expected to take 2 hours or less. Start time is anywhere

between 7:30–9:30am, depending on pick-up location.

Pick-Up Location/Delivery Areas:

a. Pick-up in Liliha. Delivery area between Hawaii Kai and Salt Lake.

b. Pick-up in Mililani. Delivery area between North Shore and Aiea.

c. Pick-up in Kapolei. Delivery area between Makaha and Waipahu.

d. Pick-up in Kaneohe. Delivery area between Kahuku and Waimanalo.

● On application, you can set an order of your preferred Pick-Up Location/Delivery Area, but your assignment will be decided by Lanakila Meal on Wheels according to their needs.

● Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and be able to show proof of vehicle registration, vehicle insurance,

and valid driver’s license.

Taiko Workshop/Seminar
Feel the powerful rhythm of the taiko! JCI Honolulu invites you to an energetic, hands-on workshop where you'll learn the fundamentals of traditional Japanese drumming.

In this workshop, members of Ewa Fukushima Bon Dance Club will guide you through:

  • Basic stances and striking techniques

  • Simple, foundational rhythms

  • The spirit and teamwork of taiko

No experience is necessary—just bring your energy and enthusiasm! This is a fantastic opportunity to try something new, connect with the community, and make some noise.

JASH Japan Wizard Competition

JASH Japan Wizards Competition 2026

When: Saturday, February 21, 2026,

Time: 8am–3pm

Location: UH Mānoa Campus Center

High school academic team competition, testing students’ knowledge of Japanese language, art, culture, economy, food, geography, history, politics & government, religion,

U.S./Hawaii-Japan ties. Top 2 private school and top 2 public school teams win a cultural immersion trip to Japan sponsored

by Hawaiian Airlines.

● Need volunteers for: (1) Competition Panels [judge, moderator,

timer, score keeper], (2) Registration staff, (3) Activity Center, and

(4) College fair

● Volunteer orientation on Saturday, January 31, 2026 (mandatory

for Competition Panel roles)

● Volunteers will receive a JWC T-shirt, breakfast, bento lunch, and

acknowledgement in the program

There will be two shifts available.

  • First Shift 2:30pm - 7pm

Malama Maunalua

"Please join us for a volunteer workday in Maunalua Bay! We will help restore the marine environment by removing invasive algae from the nearshore waters, as part of an effort to continue the work of the Great Huki. From 2009-2011, a team of dedicated volunteers and staff removed 3 million pounds of invasive limu from 27 acres. Today, we continue this effort through volunteer workdays with schools and community groups.
